A meta tag is a piece of HTML code that provides information about a web page to search engines (such as Google and Bing) and other web crawlers. It is used to describe the content of the page.

Meta tags (or meta data) are placed in the head section of a web page's HTML code and are not visible to users when the page is viewed in a web browser.

On Create, you can customise the meta tags for the Title, Keywords and Description of the page so that search engines can properly index your page and display it in the search results.

Learning how to write meta tags is an essential part of SEO. By telling search engines what the title of the page is and providing a compelling description, you can rank higher and encourage more clickthroughs to your pages.
