What format should my music file be in?
If you’d like to distribute music on your website, we recommend your files are in the MP3 format. This is because other formats such as WAV are very large and will use up your file storage space faster.
You can usually tell the format of a file by looking at the file extension. This is a normally three or four letter code at the end of the file name, for example, .MP3 or .WAV
If you need to convert your audio file to MP3 you will need converter software. If you do not already own one, you can search Google for “mp3 encoder windows/mac”. You could alternatively use an online converter such as online-convert.com.
