Using CSS code on your Create website

The approved code available to use on your websites have been tested and approved by the Create technical team in order to ensure that it will work with all of our available templates.

The codes we provide can be used to make specific changes to your templates. You will need to ensure that you follow the instructions below exactly in order to add the code successfully to your account and have the changes applied.

Once you have found the code that you are looking for you will need to copy everything inside the code box into an HTML fragment within your account by following the instructions below.

Using custom CSS within your website is an advanced feature. It is advised that you do not use custom CSS such as this without some technical knowledge.

You should copy and paste the code as it is and make no amendments to ensure that it functions correctly.

If you do use code which is posted here then you will need to follow the instructions below:

  • Copy the code in its entirety, this includes the <style> tags which the code is placed in.
  • Click on the "HTML Fragments" from the left-hand menu of your "Content" screen and then onto "Add new HTML Fragment"
  • Paste the code into the main text area.
  • Use the title which is included within the code snippet as the title of the fragment, so that you and the Create team are easily able to identify it if you should need any assistance, e.g. 'CreateCSS: PageTitleFontSize'

You will then need to insert this code into your "Site Footer" for the changes to apply to your entire website

To insert the fragment into your footer:

  1. Click on "Content".
  2. Click on to "Edit Site Footer" from the left-hand menu.
  3. On the editor toolbar click the "HTML" button. This is the ninth button on the first row of the toolbar.
  4. A new window will pop-up containing a list of all your HTML Fragments. Select the fragment that you wish to insert from the list and click the "OK" button.
  5. A grey graphic will appear in the place that the HTML fragment should appear on your published site. This is called a "Place-holder".
  6. When ready, click the "Save & Exit" button.

DISCLAIMER:  Please know that any code that has not been approved by the development team is not guaranteed to work with your Create site.

You will need to publish your website for the changes to take effect.
