A Key to using Import/Export

When you first open your exported spreadsheet your file will open in a "column" format. In this guide, we will be looking at the layout of files that you should see when you export a file of your shop products or categories, including the file layout you should upload when importing files and what each column means.


Shop Product Exported File


When you download/export a file of your shop products and open it with spreadsheet software, it will be in a .txt file with titled columns as shown below:

Below is a list of all the columns that will be included your shop products file and what they mean. These columns are the same columns you will need to copy exactly and use to layout a file of your shop products that you will upload if using the Import feature.

#DYOSPXD# Required by the Create system. DO NOT edit.
#DYOSCAH# Required by the Create system. DO NOT edit.
SKU Your unique identifier for this product
title The title of the product
short_description A short description of the product. No longer than a sentence.
long_description The full description of the product. Should be written in HTML.
price The price of the product
trade_price The trade price of the product
product_thumbnail The external URL of an image to use as a custom thumbnail. Leaving blank will not delete the image from the product.
product_image The external URL of an image to use as the featured product image. Multiple product images are not currently supported with Import/Export. Leaving blank will not delete the image from the product.
product_weight The weight of the product in KG
product_quantity The amount you have in stock
visible The products visibility. 1 = Visible on the site 0 = Hidden
published Is this product live? 1 = Product is live and available to purchase 0 = Product is not ready to be sold
titletag If you want an additional page title for this product, enter it here.
metakeys Add meta keywords to your product to aid search engines. Each keyword should be separated by a comma. (,)
metadesc Add a meta description to your product to aid search engines. Maximum 255 characters.
brand The brand of your product and is required as a Unique Product Identifier within your Google Product Feed
isbn The ISBN (International Standard Book Number) for a commercially published book and is required as a Unique Product Identifier within a Google Product Feed
mpn The MPN (Manufacturers Part Number) which uniquely links a product to a manufacturer and is required as a Unique Product Identifier within a Google Product Feed
upc The UPC (Unique Product Code) is for a commercial product sold primarily in Northern America and is required as a Unique Product Identifier within your Google Product Feed
ean The EAN (European Article Number) is for a commercial product sold primarily outside of Northen America and is required as a Unique Product Identifier within your Google Product Feed
google_category The category breadcrumb trail your product relates to according to the Google Category Listings and is required for your Google Product Feed. Each category level separated by 2 semicolons. (;;)
out_of_stock_msg If this product is out of stock, this is the message that is shown.
options_name If your product has options. Add them here. Separate each option name with 2 hash symbols (##). i.e colour##size##flavor
options_value For each product option, you need to specify possible values. Separate each value by 2 semicolons (;;) and group them in the same order as your options. Separating each group with 2 hash symbols (##). i.e red;;blue;;green##big;;small##vanilla;;chocolate
options_price If any of your option values have price differences enter them here in the same format as option values.i.e 0;;0;;2.50##1.50;;0##0;;0
Categories A category breadcrumb trail, leading to where the product is/should be saved. Each category level separated by 2 semicolons. (;;)
#ROWEND# Required by the Create system. This indicates the end of an item row.


For all these fields we strongly advise against using or including any special characters - accented letters, hearts/shapes, trademark or copyright symbols etc, as this can severely affect the functionality of the feature. Shop Categories Exported File

When you download a file of your categories this will also be in a format with columns and the titles of these columns and what they mean can be found below. Again, if you wish to upload a categories file to amend your categories you will need to match this format exactly.

PARENT The name of the parent category. Enter a hyphen (-) for the top level category.
PATH The category breadcrumb, including the categories name. Each category level is separated by 2 semicolons. (;;)
title The categories name
description The category description. Must be in HTML format.
image The image URL of the category thumbnail.
sortorder This is whether you want your products listed in ascending or descending order based on the "sortfield" field. ASC - ascending DESC - descending
sortfield This is the field you want your products listed by. You can choose between the products title or price
visible Is this category visible or hidden. 1 - Category is visible on the site 2 - Category is hidden
thumbcols The number of category columns you want. This takes effect when you have the display type set to display category thumbnails.
published Is this category live? 1 = Category is live and available to purchase 0 = Category is not ready to be sold
displaytype How you want your category list to display. Values are: 0 - Text-only list 1 - Text and images 3 - Images only
titletag If you want an additional page title for this category, enter it here.
metakeys Add meta keywords to your category to aid search engines. Each keyword should be separated by a comma. (,)
metadesc Add a meta description to your category to aid search engines. Maximum 255 characters.
#ROWCAT# Required by the Create system. This indicates the end of an item row.
