Your browser is the software you use to access and display web pages, for example, Google Chrome, Safari, and Microsoft Edge.
Websites are stored on servers. When anyone wants to view a page of your website, it is the browser’s job to look up where this page is stored (using a URL) and display its content to the user.
Browsers are there to make browsing the web easy. They all operate fairly similarly no matter which you use. You can navigate forward and backwards between pages, set a home page, bookmark pages of interest and more. You can even customise your experience further with browser extensions.
