An Introduction To Import/Export

Import/Export is a great feature which enables you to upload and download spreadsheets of your product or category details.

This is fantastic if you already have a website and would like to start another with Create, perhaps to branch out to a different market such as wholesale, as it means that you can simply move all of your Shop products from one account to the next. In addition to this it is perfect if you have many products, as you can use this feature to export your product data, update it and then re-upload it into your account.

By using a tabbed delimited .txt spreadsheet you can do the following:

  • Upload additional products directly to your Create shop.
  • Edit existing product details.
  • Download spreadsheets of product and category information.
  • Import products directly from a Mr Site or EKM Powershop website.

Moving from Mr Site or EKM Powershop

If you have moved to Create from EKM Powershop or Mr Site we do offer the use of Import/Export to move over your products. This is fantastic as it means you can start building your new website straight away!

Firstly, you will need to open your exported spreadsheet and you can read more about this here

Once you have then opened your spreadsheet you will need to ensure the content within matches the spreadsheet criteria, which you can read more about here. You can do this by copying and pasting the correct content into the correct columns.

When you have edited your spreadsheet you can then import it to your account by following the steps detailed in the guide here.

If you are transferring your products from EKM you will need to ensure you select the "EKM Shop : Product" option from the type drop-down box in your “Import/Export” area before you import your products.

This feature is on request for the Shop Builder Advances package.

Please note: We cannot offer support should you experience any malfunction caused by incorrect use of this feature. In addition, we may not be able to retrieve any information lost and revert any changes made. Because of this we strongly recommend an unedited version of your file is saved each time to help should any mishap occur.
