How Do I Add Google Analytics To My Site?

Google Analytics is a statistics program that tracks visitors on your website. It will provide you with information on how visitors found your website, what they looked at when they were there and much more. This is a free service provided by Google which you can integrate with your Create account.

To sign up for this service or more information please go to the link below:

Google will supply you with a unique code (e.g. UA-123456-1) which you will need to insert into the "Google Analytics" section of your "Edit Site Information" screen.

To do this please follow the instructions below:

  1. Log in to your Create account
  2. Click "Content" from the Top Menu
  3. Click "Edit Site Information" from the left hand menu
  4. Select the tab titled "Google Analytics" and paste the code into the 'Google Analytics' box
  5. Click to "Save Changes"

Alternatively, you can now simply click the green "Connect To Google!" button in this area, without needing the code.

Remember to always "Save Changes" and you will need to publish your website to push your changes live.

Connecting to Google feeds your whole site into Google Analytics, so you don't have to worry about adding script to each page.

How long does it take for Google Analytics to start working?

Google Analytics generally updates your reports every 24 hours. This means that it could take 24 hours for data to appear in your account after you have first installed the tracking code.

If you have installed the tracking code and are still not able to see data after 24 hours please contact your Account Manager.

Google are rolling out their newest version - "Universal Analytics" across accounts during 2015. For help with upgrading to Universal Analytics, see our HelpCentre guide "How Do I Set Up Universal Analytics With My Website".
