I registered my domain name with Easyspace, how do I use it with my site?

If you haven't already done so, you will now need to add your domain name to your Create account. To do this please follow these instructions:

  1. Log in to your Create account
  2. Click on "Account" on the top menu
  3. Click on "Manage Domain Names & Email"
  4. Click on the link for "Add Existing Domain"
  5. Enter the domain name you want to add to your account, for example: create.net then click on the "Add" button.
  6. Your domain name should now display on your "Manage Domain Names & Email" screen.
  7. You may need to publish your website for the website to appear at the new domain name.

You will need to locate your Create IP Address in order to change your account settings with EasySpace. To locate your Create IP Address please see the steps below:

  1. Log in to your Create account
  2. Click on "Account" on the top menu
  3. Click on "Manage Domain Names & Email"
  4. Message will read: "Your site's allocated IP Address: [Your IP Address]” – see image below

Please note, in the example above [Your IP Address] represents where your IP Address will be displayed; this is a series of numbers. You should use this exact IP Address located within your Create account when altering IP settings with EasySpace.

To point your domain name to your Create website using EasySpace, please follow these steps*:

  1. Log into your Easyspace account
  2. Select your domain name from the drop down box under "Domain Management" and click "GO"
  3. Click on "Manage DNS" button in the "Additional Tasks" section
  4. On the next screen select the CNAME tab and click "Add Record"
  5. Enter www in the Host field and then the CNAME provided in your Create domain settings. Press the Update button and then the "Save" button at the bottom of the box when you are done.
  6. Now select the "A Recs" tab and click "Add Record"
  7. Enter @ in the Host field and then the A record provided your Create domain settings. Press the Update button and then the "Save" button at the bottom of the box when you are done.
  8. Delete any old records you have for these hosts as they can cause conflicts.  Allow up to 48 hours for your records to start working.

*These steps are a guideline and may not remain accurate as outside registrars updates sites regularly, please contact your registrar if uncertain.

If you are having any trouble with this, you should be able to contact your registrar's support team who will be able to assist with this, just paste them the instructions above including your Create IP Address and they will be able to help.

Please note, changing your domains “DNS settings” to point to your website should not affect any email service you may currently have set up with your registrar, and you do not need to make any changes to your email settings.
