Enhanced Ecommerce Tracking for Google Analytics has been designed to provide richer insights into pre-purchase shopping behaviour and product performance. This new feature allows you to dynamically measure user interactions with products on your website shop throughout the user's shopping experience, including areas such as product impressions, product clicks, viewing product details, adding a product to a shopping cart, initiating the checkout process, transactions and refunds.

How does it help my business?
The information collected by Enhanced Ecommerce will be extremely useful in assessing conversions and how to improve your users' ordering experience resulting in higher sales. By tracking the user behaviour across your store from product views to “Thank You” page, you can implement changes to turn more shoppers into buyers!
Using Enhanced Ecommerce you can analyse how far shoppers get in the “shopping funnel” and where they drop off, as well as learning which products are viewed most, more frequently abandoned, and which ones convert well.
What is in the update?
Previous ecommerce tracking in Google Analytics has used information on the receipt or thank you page of an order to transmit transaction and revenue data back to Google Analytics. You can continue to do this, but using Enhanced Ecommerce will give you additional reports and graphs about users’ actions as it has more ways to collect and analyse ecommerce data.
By creating product lists for your rules and product landing pages, you can see which products are successfully driving customer engagement. You can analyse how your promotions impact sales and use this data to make improvements where necessary – even small changes can have a big impact on your business.
