Who we are

Our History

In 1999 Simon, one of our co-founders, was working as a freelance web developer, creating websites that their owners could easily control and update themselves. One such owner introduced Simon to his neighbour Ian, who, as a result, soon had one of his very own.

As Simon built websites for more and more clients he started to realise the potential of a system that could enable anyone, regardless of their technical skills or experience, to quickly and easily build the website they want. While Simon scratched his head and scribbled notes and plans about how it could all work, Ian was enjoying running his own website and coming to a similar conclusion!

When Ian discussed his ideas with Simon the similarities were obvious and the idea for Create was born. Since then thousands of people have used Create to build the website they want.

Where We Are Now

Since the launch 'Create' has gone from strength to strength, but our key ethos that anyone should be able to create and maintain the website they want hasn't changed.

To ensure our customers continue to receive the excellent service and innovation they've come to expect as standard, in recent years, we've moved to Brighton to accommodate our growing team of dedicated people and we're now flourishing in offices which are both modern and environmentally friendly, a perfect environment for our creativity to be nurtured.

The Future

Throughout the last ten years we have heard from many hundreds of customers who never thought they could build their own website. We love to hear these stories and hope that in the next decade we will hear many hundreds more.

Empowering people to build a website when they have assumed it is unachievable, has always been the driving force behind the continued innovation of the 'Create' system, ensuring it continues to exceed the changing needs of the internet and our customers.
