Small personal touches can make all the difference to your customers and to the relationship they build with your business. Whether it is a note, a free gift or a great wrapping, these are opportunities to convey your brand personality to your customer and make them feel appreciated, thereby encouraging them to come back and buy again.

We spoke to Lucy from The Wise House about how she improves her customer experience by adding the personal touch, so let’s hear what they had to say!

"Right from day one I wanted customers to experience a really personal service at The Wise House, which includes packaging up the order beautifully and enclosing a handwritten thank you note. If you love something enough to order it, then I think it's only right that it's taken good care of! Where an order is a gift for somebody else I also include a manilla tag with a note from the sender which seems to go down really well.

Hand-written notes are a quick and easy way to go that extra mile for your customer. It not only shows you appreciate them, but lays the foundation for a great relationship with them both now and in the future. It is also a fantastic opportunity to show off your brand personality and a chance to make their day!

It’s also really important to package your products so they not only convey your branding but your company ethos too. So, for example, if you are an eco-friendly company you could think about where you are sourcing your packing materials from or use only recyclable packaging.

A great way Lucy has done this is to have her own The Wise House stamp and use coloured ribbon or string to not only keep in with her branding but really give her package a homemade feel. This has been hugely popular with her customers, as you can see from her testimonials here:

"Arrived within hours of ordering beautifully wrapped with a small handwritten card. So thoughtful, above and beyond the call of duty in this mad world. THANK YOU"

"Recently I ordered a bag from thewisehouse for my sister-in-law's birthday. I live in France and she lives in the UK, so I rely heavily on the internet to buy presents for people back home. thewisehouse was able to include a personalised label with my order, which makes all the difference to me, as it makes the recipient feel that I have put some thought into the purchase instead of just using my credit card to solve a logistical problem."

And that's it! These are some quick and easy ways to add a personal touch to your order and to make your customers happy. After all, isn't that what it is all about?
